Do you read more than one book at a time?

This month's ‘Writers on Reading’ author is Joanna Trollope, who has written a number of well received contemporary novels; but also prize winning romantic fiction under the pseudonym Caroline Harvey.  Among her interesting responses to our questions one answer in particular has piqued our interest- it seems Joanna reads an awful lot of books at once!

Some people seem to have the ability to read several books at the same time, without losing track of what to others would seem like a complicated set of characters, events and plotlines. Others must stick rigorously to one volume at a time. The Muser is wondering which type of reader you are and debates which of these styles is the most effective at reducing the book-pile all bibliophiles manage to create around them!
